More than pretty words...

Girl, You're Worth It!

How to Know and Show Your Worth in Your Business or Workplace.

"Obstacles are placed in our way to see if what we want is worth fighting for." Unknown

I spent most of my life underestimating my worth; not seeing my own full value. I played the roles of who I thought I needed to be for people to love me and prove I was worth it...worth the time, the fight, the effort, the whatever. It took me over 30 years to learn and to be able to look at myself in the mirror and say "girl, you're worth it," and to believe it!  Ha! That's when I begin to love myself more for being the quietly, caring, overly emotional, taking life too seriously sometimes, creative soul that I am. And I am here to tell you today: "girl you're worth it too!" Often times we get this in our personal lives and neglect it in our work lives. So here's how you can know and show your worth in your business or workplace.

1. BELIEVE IN YOUR WORTH!

God put you here and designed you with a purpose. A purpose which only you can fulfill.  No one else, but you!  Your unique fingerprint to be left upon the world. That, my pretty, is to be celebrated (not tolerated).  You are more precious than rubies! (Proverbs 31:10)   Did you know that all, let me repeat that....ALL natural rubies have imperfections in them?  Yet they are still considered precious gems (rare and of high quality)!  And you are worth much more than that!  So when you operate and present your business or walk into your job, remember that and exude confidence in the imperfect perfection that is you!   Believe in your worth!  Why?  Because you're worth it!

2 .  INVEST IN YOUR WORTH!

Beautiful, don't you know we are always learning and will never know everything?  The world around us is constantly evolving and so we must as well!  Invest in your worth by staying educated in your craft.  Invest your time and/or your money.  Take classes, go to conferences, participate in mastermind groups, hire a coach, and surround yourself with success minded individuals.  Make sure you are not the brightest bulb in all of your circles so there is someone to pour into you as much as you pour into others!  Determine in advance which ways you want to invest in yourself and put it in your budget.  Why?  Because you're worth it!

3.  CHARGE WHAT YOU'RE WORTH!

Too often we devalue ourselves and our services by discounting our gifts.  Lovely...your time is priceless.  Any time you invest in a client or employer, guess what...you don't get that time back!  So my question to you is, “What's your time worth?  What's that piece of your life you are giving away worth?”  Think about it.  You already know you are blessed with a uniqueness no one can duplicate.   You are going to or have already invested time and money into growing your craft.  And now you're just going to discount all that?  I think not!  Girl, you better charge what you're worth!  Only you can determine what that is.  Do some market research.  Are you getting paid a reasonable fee/wage?  Is it in line with what you KNOW it's worth? If not, make some adjustments.  Ask for a raise.  Get a better paying job.  Raise your prices.  Why?  Because you're worth it!

So my pretty, when you understand the value you possess, your world will transform and you will transform others around you:  your clients, your employer and employees, your loved ones and friends.  Be a source of hope.  Know your worth.  You are worth all the time, all the money, all the love, all the investment, worth fighting for.  Girl, you're worth it!

Ciao for now... Alli
